hate, love, lust, I don't know

$880.00

30×40

The title comes from a lyric by Lexa Gates, and the painting carries that same emotional confusion, where feelings start bleeding into each other until you can’t really separate one from the next. Hate, love, lust, obsession, grief; they all distort themselves when you sit in them too long. The blacks and grays move heavily across the canvas, while softer streaks of pale pink cut through the darker layers almost accidentally. I didn’t want the painting to feel resolved. The brushwork stays restless and uncertain, like trying to understand your own emotions while they’re still actively changing shape.
