At the time of painting this, I had just begun a romance involving a boy with a similar name to “Jay” which led me to create this piece as a way to cope with the feelings of excitement and young adoration. The bright colors and spreading effect of the acrylic paint invoke the same unsure but beautiful feelings brought up in early romances, not quite sure where it’ll lead, but excited to watch it bloom and change.
